The National Society has a full-time genealogist position available in the Registrar’s Office. This unique position offers candidates the opportunity to hone their research skills in early American genealogy, with a focus on Revolutionary War patriots. Primary responsibilities focus on examining and evaluating lineage-based information provided on DAR membership applications or supplemental applications, and corresponding with prospective members or Chapter Registrar if further documentation is needed.

The National Society has a full time opening for a library professional to serve as the main Reference Services Librarian in the DAR Library.
The DAR Library, one of the nation's premier genealogical research centers and is ranked as one of the most important national institutions based on the uniqueness of sources. Many thousands of volumes of genealogical compilations, record abstracts, and other materials such as family histories, cemetery record transcriptions, and Bible records are available only at the DAR Library.
