Digital Library housing Early American Publications
This unique, web-based archive features thousands of full-text articles and images from over two-dozen historical U.S. newspapers circa 1690-1876, including New England and New York newspapers such as the Boston Gazette and Federal Gazette. Page images are formatted to allow for easy viewing, magnification, printing and saving. Searchable OCR-generated ASCII text is provided with each image.
Readex's Early American Database is being continually updated. This rich database will grow to include over 200 individual newspaper titles from over 20 states in the next few years.
| The New England Historic Genealogical Society |
The New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS) is the oldest genealogical society in the country. The databases provide access to over 110 million names, covering all New England states, and regions of New York and Eastern Canada.
Access is also available to the New England Historical and Genealogical Register (1847-1997), Massachusetts Vital Records, 1841-1910, and Massachusetts Vital Records to 1850.
JSTOR is an online database that provides full-text searches for academic journals.
WorldVitalRecords provides access to the Everton Online Library, Small Town Newspapers Collection, Quinton CDROM Library Collection, the International Parish Register Collection, World Gazetteer Collection, the International Marriage Record Collection, and Accessible Archives.
Footnote.com is a new database of original documents, many of which relate to the Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWI, WWII, and U. S. Presidents. Some unique titles include Revolutionary War Rolls, Service and Pension Records. Footnote.com has partnered with the National Archives to digitize the Archives entire collection-approximately 9 billion documents, many of which had previously only been available on microfilm.
