The Indiana Period Room Virtual Tour is a gift of the Indiana DAR.

The Indiana room depicts a parlor in a wealthy Indiana home of the 1930s furnished with antiques and reproductions. The conversational arrangement of the furniture around the fireplace is typical of the colonial revival style. The appreciation and collecting of American antiques originated in the late-19th century due to a renewed interest in our country’s early history. Modern conveniences like the phonograph or record player, radio, and telephone made life more pleasant when used alongside the late 18th-century sofa and chairs.
