Wednesday, December 5 has been declared a National Day of Mourning in honor of the passing of the 41st President of the United States, George H. W. Bush. All executive offices and agencies of the federal government will be closed, DAR Headquarters will close as well and the DAR Christmas Open House is canceled on Wednesday, December 5 in observance of the National Day of Mourning.
Despite the cancellation of the DAR Christmas Open House special event, all are encouraged to visit the DAR Headquarters during normal business hours throughout the month to enjoy the building and Period Rooms decorated for the holidays.
