TEEN/ADULT: Colors! Colors everywhere! Humans throughout history have loved colorful clothing. Now, discover for yourself the mysteries of how you can make those colors without the use of modern chemical dyes. Participants in this workshop will experiment with three different natural dyes used in early America, and take home three items, one of each fiber type: wool, silk, and cotton. The color possibilities are endless! Recommended for age 16 and above. Please wear clothing you wouldn’t mind a few splashes of dye on. Instructor: Katie Cannon, DAR Museum Assistant Curator of Education. Visit eyeonelegance.dar.org and dar.org/museum.
