Historical Significance:
Traveler's Rest is a stagecoach inn and plantation home built around 1815 by James R. Wyly. In 1833 it was sold to the Jarrett Family. It continued to operate as an inn and plantation. It was the home to Mary Jarrett White, Organizing Regent of the Toccoa Chapter, NSDAR. Mrs. White sold the property to the state of Georgia in 1955.
