“A Roxbury Woman Discovers her Revolutionary History,” Boston Globe, April 20, 2016
The Boston Globe profiled a family's genealogical search that lead to discovering Winsor Fry, their Revolutionary War ancestor. Winsor Fry was a freed slave, who took part in a number of historic battles, from the Siege of Boston to Yorktown, and he is now established as a new Patriot in the DAR Ancestor Database.

DAR was mentioned in this Associated Press article about Revolutionary War battlefield sites that are working to learn more about and recognize the rank-and-file American soldiers that fought on them through online databases. DAR has been compiling information like this about Revolutionary Patriots for over 125 years to make available to the public through the DAR Library and Ancestor Database.

“Who Is Marian Anderson, the Woman on the New $5 Bill,” Newsweek, April 21, 2016
The U.S. Department of the Treasury recently announced plans to depict Marian Anderson on the reverse side of the redesigned $5 bill. In a recent Newsweek article discussing Marian Anderson’s role in American history, President General Lynn Young addresses how Ms. Anderson's 1939 concert on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial "helped us make a major change, and I think helped all of America make the change, for the shift towards racial equality, which was long overdue. She’s a remarkable woman, and we are thrilled that she is being honored in this way for her talent and what she has brought to our American art and to our history.”

The DAR Library and the DAR Genealogical Research System were featured in TLC’s “Who Do You Think You Are?” This episode featured actor Scott Foley as he used the DAR resources to learn more about his Revolutionary War ancestor.

“Remembering the American Revolution, 1776-1890,” C-SPAN 3 American History TV, April 10, 2016
C-SPAN 3’s American History TV visited DAR Headquarters to learn more about the DAR Museum exhibition, "Remembering the American Revolution: 1776-1890" for a series for their TV program, American Artifacts. Heidi Campbell-Shoaf, Chief Curator and Museum Director, gives a tour of the exhibit and explains how citizens maintained a connection to the Revolution by saving and creating objects.

Jeopardy! Filiming at DAR Constitution Hall Coverage
The TV game show, Jeopardy!, filmed at DAR Constitution Hall in April. Jeopardy! filmed its Power Players Week, finals of the Teachers Tournament and the Teen Tournament and they are scheduled to air in May.
