The Kansas Chapel is inspired by the Sargent Chapel in the Congressional Church in Topeka, Kansas. The stained glass windows with the sunflower design came from a 1911 Carnegie Library in Wichita. Sunflowers, which grow wild on the Kansas prairies, were adopted as the official state flower in 1903.
