Community Service Award

This committee was established in April 1993 to set guidelines and administer the approval process for the states and chapters seeking worthy recipients for Community Service Awards. This award is given in recognition of outstanding contribution to the community through civic, benevolent, or heroic acts by citizens from a variety of walks of life. The recipient must have outstanding voluntary service in cultural, educational, humanitarian, patriotic, historical, citizenship, environmental conservation, or organized community endeavors.

Members of DAR are eligible to receive the award if the service is unrelated to their DAR activities. A chapter may present only two awards per NSDAR year and it may not be presented posthumously.
