| Job Description: The National Society seeks a full-time (40 hours per week) Security Officer to join the staff of the NSDAR Security Department.
Duties involve greeting visitors, issuing visitor passes and operating security equipment. Security officers are responsible for ensuring safety and security protocols are followed, contacting departments upon arrival of visitors, receiving and logging- in deliveries and securing items, patrolling and securing premises and performing routine security functions including opening/closing of the building, turning on/off alarm systems and responding to emergencies.
Minimum six months security experience, preferably in a museum environment, and high school diploma or equivalent required. Candidates must have the ability to work with the public in a highly professional and customer service friendly manner. Excellent judgment, decision-making skills and the ability to keep information confidential are required. Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to stressful or emergency situations is absolutely critical.
Candidates must also successfully meet the D.C. Metropolitan Police security eligibility requirements for a Special Police Officer or a Security Officer license.

| Job Description: The DAR Museum seeks an on-call or substitute Gift Shop Associate to provide high-level customer service to visitors of the museum shop. Duties include: greeting visitors, assisting customers, operating cash register; open/close gallery & gift shop, and maintaining professional appearance of gift shop environment. Requires experience in retail and/or customer service, preferably in a museum store environment. Ability to work independently, have good organizational and multi-tasking skills, as well as cash-handling and computer skills required.
Preferred work schedule includes daytime hours, up to 20 hours per month including Saturdays, but will consider other reduced-hours schedules, such as Saturday only hours as well.

| Job Description: The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) is seeking a Museum Director and Chief Curator to lead and oversee the curatorial, collections and education programs of the National Societys DAR Museum. This is a key position that requires skill and expertise in leading and managing a museum department and staff of a major nonprofit organization.
The Director/Chief Curator reports to the Headquarters Administrator and serves as the head of the Museum with responsibility for setting strategic direction as well as overseeing day-to-day operations in accordance and alignment with the policies and objectives established by the Executive Committee and the National Board of Management.
Primary responsibilities will involve providing leadership and direction to staff and overseeing all aspects of the Museum operations, including the planning, preparation and implementation of exhibitions and other programs related to the Museums mission. The Director will be responsible for developing a comprehensive plan that employs best practices, appropriate technology and coordinated efforts to attract greater personal and virtual visitation to the DAR Museum. The Director/Chief Curator manages a team of ten individuals, including staff in the museum shop.
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate must have a masters degree in either art history, American studies or American history, or a masters degree in a related field of study; a minimum of five years curatorial experience, preferably in a decorative arts or history museum; and at least two years strong museum management experience that includes budgetary/fiscal management responsibilities.
The candidate must also demonstrate experience researching, reviewing and implementing exhibitions and programs, including experience using electronic media to publicize and promote museum collections and programs.
This position requires exemplary interpersonal, written, verbal, and listening communication and dynamic organizational skills; the ability to creatively problem solve, to provide strategic planning and effectively manage overall department operations, exhibitions, programs and activities while utilizing appropriate resources and technology necessary to achieve department goals and objectives. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of and proficiency in museum collections management systems, preferably Argus, required.

| Job Description: The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution has full-time openings available for a Genealogist in the Registrars Office. Primary responsibilities focus on examining and evaluating lineage-based information provided on DAR membership applications or supplemental applications, and corresponding with prospective members or Chapter Registrar if further documentation is needed.
Qualifications: Previous experience in conducting genealogical research is required. The successful candidate must be able to analyze and evaluate lineage information, be detail oriented and resolve issues from conflicting data, and be able to write clear and concise letters explaining difficult research problems, including providing suggestions to the applicant for further research. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, including the ability to adapt quickly to proprietary databases, is essential.
Limited overtime hours possible during board weeks, (April, June, October and December) however, must be available to work overtime hours during one week of annual meeting.
These are full-time positions stationed at the NSDAR headquarters. No telecommuting or relocation assistance offered.
