USA250 is a nonprofit organization founded to spark the nation's imagination leading into and through the United States Semiquincentennial. Its role involves organizing, advocating for, promoting and coordinating celebration plans recommended by the United States Semiquincentennial Commission.
USA250 is enlisting a diverse range of stakeholders across communities, governments, industries, philanthropies, and the public at large to capture the ideas and solicit the partnership of friends across the country and around the world as well as are researching best practices from comparison events and model initiatives.
The organization draws particular inspiration from the Centennial International Exposition of 1876, which brought together a fractured, post-Civil War nation and attracted 10 million visitors to the United States’ first official World’s Fair. The Centennial not only marked America’s 100th anniversary, but more broadly it engaged the world around the leading artistic, commercial, and agricultural advancements of that era.
DAR is proud to partner with USA250 to help seize this once-in-a-generation opportunity to unify the country and engage millions of Americans nationwide, as well as friends across the globe. The National Society looks forward to working together to honor our historic progress and strive toward an ever more perfect union.
