The National Society is seeking an On-call/Contingent security/events professional to join the Security Department.
Duties involve greeting visitors, issuing visitor passes and operating security equipment; ensuring safety and security protocols are followed, responding to emergencies, making initial assessments of situations, patrolling and securing premises and performing routine security functions including opening/closing of the building complex.
- Security experience, preferably in a museum or office building environment;
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Exceptional ability to work with the public in a highly professional and customer service friendly manner;
- Ability to follow safety and security protocols and respond quickly to emergency situations and make initial assessments of situations using tact, diplomacy and good judgment.
Candidates must be able to successfully meet and maintain D.C. Metropolitan Police security eligibility and training requirements for a Security Officer license.
On-call/contingent work schedule involves working at least 16 hours per month on weekend nights, such as 4:00pm to 12:00pm midnight.
