Join the Abigail Hinman Chapter, NSDAR, for a special America 250! commemoration as members dedicate a grave marker at Cedar Grove Cemetery in New London honoring Abigail (Dolbeare) Hinman.
According to local legend, Abigail bravely stood her ground against Benedict Arnold on September 6, 1781, when he arrived with the British fleet to burn New London in conjunction with the massacre at Fort Griswold. The marker will serve as a tribute to her courage and to the enduring stories of those who witnessed the struggle for American independence.
