Donations to the Marian Anderson Legacy Fund are used to support projects, programs, and other initiatives that promote the legacy of Marian Anderson including funding for a new DAR scholarship. A legendary singer and inspiration for civil rights, Marian Anderson’s legacy is forever intertwined with the DAR and we are honored to celebrate her memory. During this time of increased applications and overall interest in DAR membership, donations to Friends of Genealogy support the work of the Office of the Registrar General and the Genealogy Department as they verify record numbers of applications and supplementals, and guide prospective members on qualifying documentation. Maintained by the Office of the Historian General, the Archives houses the inactive records created in the course of business by the National Society. Holdings include correspondence, meeting minutes, project files, photographs, and objects, such as DAR pins. Native Americans have helped shape our nation through their hardships of survival, religious ceremonies, and social and political contributions.
