President General's Project

Our Legacy in Bloom

What an inspiring time it is to be a Daughter of the American Revolution! After years of preparation and anticipation, our nation’s 250th anniversary is finally here—and DAR is proudly leading the way.

For this reason, our Administration has selected the theme Our Legacy in Bloom for the President General's Project. This theme encourages each of us to bring the legacy of our Founders into the present with renewed energy and purpose.

Together, we will illuminate the legacy we have inherited—and the future we are shaping—to include:

  • The legacy of the men, and especially the women, who achieved American indepdence. We will honor the contributions of all Patriots of the American Revolution, perhaps the most especially those who are too often left off the pages of history.
  • The legacy of DAR's Founders and early members of DAR who sought to preserve our past. We will celebrate the remarkable women who created our National Society by preserving the home they built for us and safeguarding the treasures entrusted to our care.
  • The legacy of DAR as a champion of America's founding values. We will celebrate America's 250th anniversary with passion, pride and creativity as a leading voice for America's promise.
  • The legacy we, as an Administration, want to leave for our National Society. We will show our appreciation to our members, our staff and our donors, all of whom enable us to execute our mission.

I am deeply committed to keeping our legacy blooming in these ways and more throughout my Administration and beyond. Of course, this will require a robust culture of philanthropy within our National Society. I hope you will join me in giving generously and joyously to DAR and its many initiatives in the coming months and years.

I am honored to be your President General at this critical time. And I look forward to working with all of you to keep DAR's legacy blooming throughout the America 250 celebration and beyond.

Thank you for your support and your passion for our mission!
