Description
On July 4th, near the Governor’s Mansion on Madison Street in Jefferson City, Missouri, The Jane Randolph Jefferson Chapter, NSDAR, will host hands-on colonial activities designed to help children learn about life during the American Revolutionary War. Activities for children include play period games that children would have enjoyed during the colonial era, taste colonial-style snacks, make and wear construction-paper Tricorn hats, sign copies of the Declaration of Independence with quill pens, view historical artifacts and other colonial displays. Take memento photos with colonial cutouts, receive American flags, books, and toys to take home as reminders of Independence Day and the patriots who won the Revolutionary War. This event is free and open to the public.
