Description
The Colonel George Mason Chapter, NSDAR will host an interactive booth at the City of Garland’s “4th on the 3rd” celebration on July 3, 2026, honoring America’s 250th anniversary.
The booth will feature family-friendly activities such as coloring the American flag, creating a craft-stick flag, signing the Declaration of Independence with a quill pen, learning flag etiquette and folding, and testing knowledge with sample citizenship questions. Visitors will also receive small American flags, colonial candies, American-themed pencils, copies of the Declaration of Independence, and "The American’s Creed."
Displays will highlight the chapter’s Patriots and local Patriots from Garland. Members dressed in colonial attire—joined by friends from the C.A.R. and S.A.R.—will help bring Revolutionary-era history to life.
The chapter will also feature a Wreaths Across America display sharing its remembrance initiative, "The Names Behind the Wreaths," honoring veterans laid to rest in the community.
This event is free and open to the public.
