due to street closures and access restrictions connected with an area event. Additionally, street traffic and parking 
in the area will be significantly restricted in the days leading up to and following the weekend events.

Join thirteen Southeast Kansas DAR chapters for the placement and dedication of an NSDAR America 250! Patriot Marker in Independence City Park, Independence, Kansas. This commemorative event will honor the men and women of the American Revolution and recognize their enduring contributions to the founding of our nation.

Participating chapters united in the purchase and placement of the marker include Cofachique, Council Oak, Esther Lowrey, Emporia, Four Winds, General Edward Hand, Isabella Weldin, Jane Dean Coffey, Marais des Cygnes, Molly Foster Berry, Oceanus Hopkins, Susannah French Putney, and Where the Trail Divides Chapters, NSDAR.

This event is free and open to the public.
