Description
In celebration of America 250!, the George W. Kendall Chapter, NSDAR will launch an America250! classroom initiative through its Liberty Belles Patriotic Book Project, bringing Revolutionary War-era stories directly into local elementary school classrooms. Through this educational effort, six elementary schools in Boerne ISD will each receive classroom sets of the four-book Liberty Belles series, which introduces students to lesser-known heroes of the American Revolution and the individuals whose courage and sacrifice helped secure American independence.

During scheduled visits held in each school library, chapter members will present the books, share a brief introduction to the Revolutionary era, and connect these stories to the nation’s approaching Semiquincentennial. Students will be encouraged to explore America’s founding, consider the ideals of citizenship and civic responsibility, and discover connections to their own family histories.

Following the presentations, the book sets will remain in participating classrooms, allowing students and teachers to continue engaging with Revolutionary War history throughout the school year. By placing meaningful historical resources in schools and fostering personal engagement with students, the George W. Kendall Chapter, NSDAR, honors America’s 250th anniversary and inspires appreciation for the enduring legacy of liberty.
