Description
1776 - 2026! America's 250th Birthday Celebration is a 1770s-like outdoors party for every resident of Williamson County, Texas. Put on by the three county DAR Chapters (Daniel Coleman, Robert Gilbert Livingston and San Gabriel Chapters) the Alexander Hamilton SAR Chapter, the Sybil Luddington Society of C.A.R., the Williamson Museum and the County of Williamson, Texas. This FREE celebration will be an afternoon of fun and games, entertainment and FREE ice cream and cupcakes, as well as displays and chats about the Spanish involvement in the Revolutionary War in Texas, the 17 Tea Parties, Betsy Ross telling about "her flag" and other services provided by women during the war; colonial dancing and more! You can even have a chat with Ben Franklin, George Washington, Ethan Allen and one of his "Green Mountain Boys", Sam Adams and a townsperson who lived through the Revolutionary War. Be sure to check out our "Patriot Square" or play one of the games: Quoits, Bag Races, Tic Tac Toe, or Knock a Redcoat off the Longhorn! Write a "thank you" letter of appreciation to a county Veteran--we're trying for 250!
