Description
The Arrowhead Valley Chapter, NSDAR, will celebrate America's 250th Anniversary by honoring one of our nation's most enduring symbols of freedom and independence, the Stars and Stripes. The chapter will present and raise a new American flag at the Asistencia de San Bernardino de Sena in Redlands, California, a historic site where Spanish and American Revolutionary-era connections intersect and where one of the earliest polling places in the newly formed County of San Bernardino was located.

The ceremony will include patriotic remarks, readings inspired by the words of our nation's founders, the singing of "The Star-Spangled Banner," prayers, and the ringing of the historic Asistencia bell dating to the 1850s. The chapter will also recognize the California sycamore tree planted on Presidents' Day 2025 in honor of America 250! near its 1930 DAR historic marker.

As part of its ongoing commemoration, the chapter will make a significant donation of history and United States-themed books to the children's reading rooms at the historic A.K. Smiley and Feldheym Public Libraries, helping inspire the next generation to learn about our nation's heritage. This event is free and open to the public.
