America's and Miriam Benedict's Birthday Party
Miriam was born on July 3, 1789, and was the daughter of a Revolutionary War soldier. The celebration will take place at Miriam Benedict Cemetery, where guests will enjoy refreshments prepared by chapter members featuring sweet treats inspired by Indiana's pioneer era.
Following the festivities, attendees will be invited on a guided tour of the cemetery, with stops at the gravesites of local veterans, the seven DAR Daughters buried there, and other noteworthy early settlers. Our town historian will share the history of the cemetery and the surrounding community, bringing the stories of those who shaped the area to life. Indiana State Society DAR Officers, neighboring chapters, DAR members, and all members of the community are invited to join us for this unique and meaningful patriotic celebration.
Free but we are accepting donations for future care of the cemetery.
