Chillicothe First - First Capital Speakers Series -2026

The Nathaniel Massie Chapter presents the first in a series of lectures/events of the First Capital Speakers Series 2026. The America250-Ohio Commission established a theme for every month of 2026 to highlight the accomplishments of Ohio over the past 250 years. The Nathaniel Massie Chapter, working with local museums and businesses has created a local series using the same themes. Chillicothe was Ohio's first capital and the home of many first in the state. Our first event is Jan. 10 at 2:00 p.m. to be held at 50 W. Main St. in a replica built in 1941 of the 1801 First Capitol Building. The speaker is DAR member Julie Lambert. Several artifacts from the Ross County Historical Society will be on display, including the table upon which the first state Constitution was written.
