Description
In celebration of America 250! and Flag Day, the Ponca City Chapter, NSDAR will host a Community Flag Day Celebration on June 14, honoring both the American flag and the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding. This patriotic event will bring the community together to reflect on the ideals of liberty, independence, and service that shaped the United States.

The program will begin with a Color Guard Flag Ceremony, followed by an oral presentation of Patrick Henry’s iconic “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” speech by a chapter member who is a direct descendant of Patrick Henry. Two local high school students will then present a public reading of the Declaration of Independence, reinforcing the enduring significance of the nation’s founding principles.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to view educational panels highlighting the stories of Oklahoma patriots, explore historical artifacts, and enjoy refreshments. Through history, patriotism, and community engagement, this event honors America’s Semiquincentennial and the enduring legacy of the American Revolution. The event is free and open to the public.
