In 1929, the Daughters of the American Revolution dedicated this building as a memorial to the Constitution. DAR Constitution Hall is the only structure erected in tribute to the Constitution of the United States of America.

Not limited to musical events, DAR Constitution Hall hosts many exciting lectures each year. Renowned anthropologist Jane Goodall greets eager fans at her book signing.

The Washington Opera found a temporary home at DAR Constitution Hall for the 2003-2004 season. According to General Director Placido Domingo, hosting the opera at DAR Constitution Hall "created a unique sense of intimacy and made the audience feel especially involved in the performance." In this innovative performance of Aida, the Washington Opera premiered high-tech 'virtual scenery' and fiber optic costumes.

Each year hundreds of talented musicians grace the stage of DAR Constitution Hall, performing classical, soul, hip-hop, pop, and rock acts.

DAR Constitution Hall has hosted many awards shows and ceremonies, including the National Sports Awards, the Country Music Association Awards, the NAACP Awards, and the Horatio Alger Awards.

DAR Constitution Hall is the largest concert hall in Washington, D.C. and seats up to 3,702 people.
