Description
In celebration of America 250!, the Fort Payne Chapter, NSDAR will dedicate a DAR America 250! Patriot Marker and Liberty Tree at Veterans Park in Naperville, Illinois, on May 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. After two years of collaboration with the Naperville Park District, the chapter received approval to place the marker in Veterans Park, a meaningful community space that honors military service and hosts civic commemorations throughout the year.

As part of the project, the Park District will also plant a Liberty Tree near the Patriot Marker and complete surrounding landscaping to enhance the site and preserve its beauty. The dedication ceremony will recognize the patriots who contributed to America’s founding and celebrate the enduring legacy of liberty as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary.

The event will include participation by members of the Fox Valley Sons of the American Revolution in colonial military attire, and a banner honoring the chapter’s patriot ancestors will be displayed. The event is free and open to the public.
