DAR Headquarters, including the DAR Museum and DAR Library, will be closed to the public on Saturday, June 13 
due to street closures and access restrictions connected with an area event. Additionally, street traffic and parking 
in the area will be significantly restricted in the days leading up to and following the weekend events.

Description
Pulitzer Prize-winning Historian Edward J. Larson looks back at a pivotal year in United States' history with the launch of his new book, Declaring Independence: Why 1776 Matters. He will be in conversation with moderator Dr. Aaron Q. Weinstein, assistant professor in the Department of Politics at Fairfield University to discuss this significant year and its impact on our country almost 250 years later.

This event is presented with Community Partners, Drum Hill Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Westport Museum for History and Culture, VFW Post 399 and The Westport Library and if the official launch event of America 250 in Westport, CT.
