Description
The Smith-McMillan Chapter, NSDAR, in conjunction with the Countywide Celebration of America 250! on the Courthouse Square in La Grange, TX will kick off the festivities with a dedication of a plaque in memory of Patriot John Sorrell's Revolutionary Service. John Sorrell lived his last years in Fayette County and is buried here in an unmarked grave. The Plaque will be located in the Veterans Memorial area on the Courthouse Square. The Chapter plans other activities during the Celebration. Grants from LCRA and DAR helped fund the Plaque.
