Constitution Week honors America’s founding document.

The Ansel Brainerd Cook Chapter, Libertyville, Illinois, observed Constitution Week in its community in 2025. During the chapter’s monthly meeting on September 13, members rang bells. The “Ringing of the Bell,” also known as Bells Across America, marks the historical signing of the United States Constitution in 1787. During Constitution Week, one of the most cherished traditions is the ringing of bells across communities on September 17, symbolizing the moment the Constitution was signed. The observance reminds citizens of the freedoms and rights guaranteed by the Constitution and fosters a sense of unity.

As part of another meaningful activity during Constitution Week, chapter members also distributed NSDAR educational posters to local schools and libraries. The posters were designed to engage students and library patrons in learning key facts and historical context about the Constitution. By sharing these materials, the chapter promotes civic education and helps to instill civic pride.
