Festival for America's 250th 1776-2026
The Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters and the FAU Libraries have planned an exciting program of events celebrating America's 250th anniversary. The festival centers around an exhibition, American Revolution: Celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the U.S.
Each week, dynamic guest speakers bring the American Revolution to life from fresh and unexpected angles. From pop culture--AMC's Turn: Washington's Spies, SNL, Drunk History, and Broadway's Hamilton--to iconic moments like espionage in the Revolution, a "family history" of the Boston Massacre, and the global reach of revolutionary art, every talk uncovers a new perspective.
Our programs connect the Revolution to today. showing why this history still matters. And for students, we offer an unforgettable experience: George Washington's Ball, a hands-on historical dance workshop with live music and costumes.
There are both free and paid events. Please check the link for all of the exciting opportunities to join America 250! Celebration Events!
