Description
The Daughters of the David Williams Chapter, NSDAR, will join the Sons of the American Revolution, the Wayne County Veterans & Patriots Coalition, the American Legion, and other veterans organizations in commemorating America's 250th anniversary at this community-wide celebration. Chapter members will host an informational booth, distribute DAR brochures and promotional materials, answer questions about the Society, and greet attendees, with some members dressed in period attire to bring Revolutionary history to life.
The family-friendly event opens at 4:00 p.m. at the fairgrounds and is expected to draw more than 15,000 attendees. Visitors can enjoy a variety of vendors, activities, live music, and food, culminating in a fireworks display at 9:00 p.m. Community leaders, including the Mayor, City Commissioner, and Base Commander, will reflect on America's 250th birthday, honor those who came before us, and share the enduring meaning of the American flag. Members of the DAR and SAR will also participate in the Presentation of Colors and the singing of the National Anthem.
