Description
In celebration of America's 250th anniversary, the Judge David Campbell Chapter, NSDAR, invites the community to the unveiling and dedication of its Liberty Tree during the July 4, 2026, weekend in the Clifftops neighborhood of Monteagle, Marion County, Tennessee. The chapter has planted a 3-inch caliper Tulip Poplar—the Tennessee State Tree—and installed a bronze marker commemorating it as a Liberty Tree.

Residents of Clifftops and the neighboring communities of Monteagle and Sewanee, along with Tennessee State Society leaders and local officials, are invited to attend this special ceremony. The program will feature a Color Guard of C.A.R. members, the music of "Journey Home," written by Dr. Sarah Corry, and a brief history of Boston's original 1760s Liberty Tree and the courageous Sons of Liberty who gathered beneath its branches. Refreshments will be served following the dedication.

Chosen as a lasting tribute to our nation's founding, this Tulip Poplar stands as a symbol of America's strength and resilience—its branches representing our diversity and its roots reflecting the bonds that connect us as fellow citizens of this great nation.
