Suffolk County, Long Island, and the American Revolution
[1] Bolded titles are referenced in “Suffolk County, Long Island, and the American Revolution.”
[2] Call numbers refer to the DAR Library collection.
[3] These individuals are also found in Mather & Roberts’s “NY In the Rev as Colony & State,” vol 2, pp 168-169 (“Pledges by the State” https://archive.org/details/newyorkrevolution02statrich/page/168/mode/2up), and others also appear on pp 194-196 (“The Subscription Rolls” https://archive.org/details/newyorkrevolution02statrich/page/194/mode/2up). This source, however, puts all the names in alphabetical order with no other arrangement. The Treasurer’s Journal reference works better, because the lists are gathered by collector, and each collector appears to have represented a county (or a part of a county) on Long Island (which is a big help for proving identity when there are multiple persons of the same name).
