Description
The William Taylor Chapter, NSDAR will host an America 250 celebration on July 4, 2026, at the historic Lunenburg County Courthouse in Lunenburg, Virginia.
Families are invited to enjoy hands-on activities before the formal program begins at 10:15 a.m. The event will highlight local Revolutionary War Patriots and the many ways they supported the fight for independence and helped shape the new nation.
The program will include the posting of the colors by a mounted troop, the Pledge of Allegiance led by local schoolchildren, and plenty of patriotic music. A special salute to veterans will be given, and the ceremony will conclude with a commemorative bell ringing.
Displays will also be available highlighting the DAR’s mission and opportunities for membership.
