Marker of Revolutionary War Patriots who settled in Blount County, Tennessee and Liberty Tree Dedication

As a part of the Blount County War Dead Memorial Park on the Courthouse Lawn in Maryville, Tennessee, there is a marker placed by Mary Blount Chapter, NSDAR in 1976 listing names of Revolutionary War patriots who settled in Blount County following the war. Names have been added over the years as more were identified and the marker now has no more space. A second marker will be erected and dedicated to inscribe additional names and those which will be identified into the future. This second courthouse marker will be dedicated and also dedicated will be a Liberty Tree which will be planted in an adjacent city park. The public is invited. There will be a program commemorating America250! and refreshments.
