Description
Members of the John Abston Chapter, NSDAR, in conjunction with the North Texas Chapters of the National Society Sons of the American Revolution, are participating with a float in the Red, White and BOOM! July 4th hometown parade in downtown McKinney starting at 10:00 AM, in celebration of America 250! There will be some familiar Revolutionary patriots riding on the float, including George Washington, Betsy Ross and Abigail Adams.

Following the parade at 11:00 AM, a fun and exciting America 250! Colonial Experience will be held at the Collin County History Museum during the downtown block party. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite colonial costume or patriotic attire. It will feature a photo booth with a choice of American hats and flags with a patriotic background, Martha Washington's and Thomas Jefferson's favorite cookies, and give-a-ways. Children will have an opportunity to sign a copy of the Declaration of Indendence, on the 250th birthday of the United States of America.
