For both men and women in the 19th century what was worn at the neck could be the finishing touch to a fashionable outfit. Photographs, artwork, fashion magazines, and surviving garments each provide different pieces of the puzzle to figuring out who wore what when. Join us for a study of common styles of cravats and neckties worn by men and women during the 1850s-60s in America.

Speaker: Kara Bocek, Owner of Corner Clothiers and DAR Museum Shop Coordinator
