A Victorian Historical Tea

2:00-3:30pm
$5
Are you ready to "take tea" like the Victorians? Put on your best frock and get your teacup ready, because you are invited to the DAR Museum's first-ever virtual Historical Tea! This event includes a reading from an 1875 essay, "Concerning Allowances," in which the author discusses the common practice of husbands giving their wives an "allowance" to spend on household goods. What do you think: will you agree with the author? Discuss it with the other people at your "table" to discover their opinions too!
Your ticket includes:
- Link and passcode to access the event through Zoom Meeting. Each ticket allows 1 login. Multiple people in the same location (i.e. household) are welcome to share the same screen; anyone who wants their own, separate screen must purchase a separate ticket.
- Option to list the people you wish to share a "table" with (so you can talk together during the small group chat sessions). "Tables" will consist of 6-8 people.
- Link to access materials to enhance your experience, including recipes, videos, and a discount on the tea items in the Museum Shop. (Order by September 16 to ensure arrival before the event)
