Alden O'Brien, Curator of Costume and avid Janeite, specializes in fashions of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. O'Brien recently had the opportunity to examine and photograph many costumes created for the recent Jane Austen film adaptations. What sources were used? How were they constructed, and how accurate were they to their period? O'Brien will present a slide lecture as well as show several garments and accessories as she shares her expertise. There is a $20 fee; reservations are required by October 16th.
