How Portraits of Women Evolved Around the RevolutionApril 11, 2023 at 12pm

This lecture pulls from a long line of visual and archival research around how women were depicted in portraits between the late 18th and early 19th century. Comparisons to poses, symbols, accessories, and attire reveal the dramatic changes in how women were viewed and represented in portraiture.

The event is free, but pre-registration is requested. This event is taking place in-person but will be streaming online.
