This workshop will introduce to the beginning antique furniture collector how a curator identifies an authentic antique made between 1690 and 1830. Join the Curator of Furnishing Patrick Sheary for a short lecture on what to look for when examining a piece of furniture, which will highlight period design and construction techniques, and then perform your own up-close examination of objects in the museum's furniture storage to identify whether it is authentic or a reproduction.
