Funding

In 2019, Twickenham Town Chapter (TTC) DAR researched, purchased and erected this marker in celebration of Alabama's Bicentennial for Clement C. Clay who headed up the Committee that wrote the Alabama Constitution. When the need arises, TTC will make whatever repairs or maintenance that is needed. The city of Huntsville maintains the grounds but TTC DAR works with the Huntsville Pilgrimage Association to create an annual Cemetery Stroll that raises about $10,000.00 per year to repair the historic graves in the cemetery that began in 1822.
