Historical Significance:
In 1775 Daniel Boone and 30 men ended their wilderness trailblazing and established one of the earliest Euro-American settlements, Fort Boonesborough, at this site. In 1778, the fort was attacked by British militia and Native American warriors. The seige of Boonesborough continued for 10 days. The settlers prevailed, and their courageous actions at Boonesborough helped the Revolutionary War efforts.
