Description
The Newell Pioneer Village, hosted by the OSSDAR, proudly continues a 14-year tradition with this year’s special America 250! celebration.

The event opens with live music by local band Corral Creek, followed by the SAR Color Guard and the Pledge of Allegiance. The ceremony continues with an invocation and a stirring rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner. During the anthem, numbered excerpts of the Declaration of Independence are distributed to attendees, who are then invited to step forward and read them aloud—an engaging highlight that brings our nation’s founding words to life.

The program continues with patriotic music, a lively history quiz, and a period-inspired skit, culminating in a pie-judging contest and auction.

Newell Pioneer Village is also home to a Patriot Garden, where bricks honor Oregon DAR Patriots. This year, the Belle Passi Chapter, NSDAR will display a poster recognizing its Patriot members beside the garden, beneath the American flag.

Join us for this meaningful and festive commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary!

This event is free and open to the public.
