Historical Significance

The Prudence Wright Chapter House was the District No. 1 Schoolhouse. It was built in 1831 and one of the first schools in Pepperell, MA. The NSDAR has occupied it since 1898 and leased it since March 21, 1901.

The Prudence Wright Chapter House abuts the Walton Cemetery where Col. William Prescott and Patriot Prudence Wright are buried, just a few steps away.
