Description
In celebration of America 250!, the Oneida Chapter, NSDAR, will sponsor a special installment of its America 250! Speaker Series featuring Ron Patterson, representative of the Oneida Indian Nation, who will present on the life and legacy of Polly Cooper. A revered Oneida woman, Polly Cooper is remembered for aiding Continental troops at Valley Forge by teaching starving soldiers how to prepare white corn and helping sustain them during one of the harshest winters of the Revolutionary War.

This program will highlight the important contributions of Indigenous allies during America’s founding and the lasting impact of their support on the cause for independence. This event is free and open to the public.
