Princeton 1776: A Family Festival of American History
This immersive event will invite visitors to step back in time and experience life in Princeton in 1776. The Yankee Doodle Tap Room will recreate an early Princeton tavern on the front lawn, offering period-inspired food and drink, while the museum’s front porch will serve as a stage for music and historical presentations.
The back lawn will feature demonstrations of colonial life, including craftspeople, living historians, and historical interpreters, along with exhibits inside the Stockton Education Center. The Princeton Fire Department will also present a display highlighting the community’s colonial-era fire company.
The Princeton Chapter will present a special exhibit, "Men Without Shoes," highlighting Black soldiers who fought in the Battle of Princeton in January 1777. Developed by students at Foundation Academy in Trenton, the exhibit shares the soldiers’ stories and research that has identified living descendants.
