Description
Join the Umpqua Chapter, NSDAR, for a commemorative Reading of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on the steps of the Douglas County Courthouse. This patriotic program will be held rain or shine.
The ceremony will open with an invocation and American Flag salute led by chapter members, followed by a performance of The Star-Spangled Banner by a local high school student. Chapter members will then present a full reading of the Declaration of Independence, bringing to life the words that shaped our nation.
The program will conclude with brief closing remarks, and attendees will receive pocket Constitutions as a lasting reminder of the freedoms we celebrate.
This event is free and open to the public.
