Description
The Rendezvous Mountain Chapter NCSDAR invites Daughters and the community to join us as we clean headstones and wrought iron fence of the oldest cemetery in Wilkesboro, North Carolina using D/2 Biological Solution. Veteran tombstones will be identified and marked with an American flag. The event will begin with a speech by the Mayor, a brief history of the cemetery by research analyst and author Jason Duncan and a few words from Associate Pastor Murphy.

The Chapter welcomes the opportunity to not only reclaim the cemetery but to educate the community on proper techniques to return tombstones to their legible condition enabling researchers to identify the final resting place of the early towns people. This also allows an opportunity for our chapter to demonstrate our commitment to education, patriotism and historic preservation to town dignitaries and establish a working relationship with them.

Restoring Wilkesboro's Old Presbyterian Church Cemetery is our chapter's America250 kickoff for community events during the semi-quincentennial. This event is free.
