Description
The Jauflione Chapter, NSDAR, is celebrating America's 250th birthday by bringing Revolutionary history to life for local children through a series of interactive educational events made possible by an America 250! Community Celebration Grant.

The first event, held in partnership with the local library's July 1 reading program, features chapter members reading selections from "We Fought for Freedom" by Tara Ross, along with a "Patriotic Paul and Patriotic Ruth" puppet craft and activity. Children will receive the first set of collectible trading cards highlighting 30 notable men and women of the Revolutionary era. Additional activities include signing a replica of the Declaration of Independence, posing with an Uncle Sam photo prop, and meeting volunteers dressed in colonial attire.

A second event during Constitution Week (September 17-23) continues the fun and learning as participants collect additional trading cards. To earn the final cards in the series, children will be encouraged to further explore Revolutionary War history by researching individuals featured on the cards or sharing photos of themselves and their patriotic puppets participating in Revolution-inspired activities. Through hands-on experiences and creative play, these programs inspire young people to discover the people and principles that shaped our nation.
